Woo! Rozay are finally over and you know what follows don't you? Yeh that's right, Eid.
Woke up today at 8, had a shower and put on my white shalwar kameez on a request from Dad (more of an order really). I can't remember the last time I worn a pair, it was probably last Eid! Everyone was surprised to see wearing the traditional outfit when I walked downstairs.
Had toast and scrambled eggs along with chai for breakfast after a tiring month. I guess it takes Ramadan to make you appreciate it.
Then at 9:30 went along with Dad, younger bro, and uncle to pray the Eid namaz at the local town mosque. It's funny because when Dad usually goes to pray he goes to the Indian mosque which is five minutes away but when it's Eid he goes to the one in town. His reason? Because in the Indian mosque they don't do a "jappee" (kind of a hug) and without a jappee it doesn't feel like Eid (for him). Weird guy.
We've invited 30 people (minimum) to our house today and I'm pleased to say Mum and the sisters have pulled it off. Two families arrived on time so we served them and after they'd eaten we shifted them to our next door house. The remaining have ate now and are having a "gupp shupp" in the living room. Girls are in one house and guys in the other.
The only reason I am writing this on the day is because I was one of the last to eat and during that period the boys chipped off somewhere. They're going to have some answering to when they get back!
