Yesterday I was having a shave and I thought to myself let’s try something different so I decided to keep a goatee. Now let me tell you something, the last time I kept a goatee was when I was 16 (4 years ago) and it only lasted a few hours thanks to Dad giving me a rollicking over it.
I had just got ready for jumah (Friday prayers) and on the way back he’s like “was that intentional?!” “erm, yeah” “well you’d better get rid, I don’t want my kid looking like no yahoodi kid”. I had to think for a moment what yahoodi meant, for those who don’t know it means Jewish. Strange stereotype I know.
I’m testing the waters to see if he’ll say anything, I’m hoping not. I don’t think he’s realised it yet, actually I know he hasn’t because he definitely would have said something.

P.S. Actually that’s how my hubby able to keep a goatee in his early twenties.
It never mattered to me when my father stopped me from keeping one, I still kept mine. It would never have mattered to me even if I looked like a jew or whatever low rank any Muslim can think of :D
The only reason I quit was because I read someone told me a ahadith about the beard and not to make it a joke.
I never kept another goatee or likes of it since then.

toseef, grow a proper one, brother Tdh is right about the hadith it states sumat like 'do not make a mockery of the beard' i've sent u a great poem about the 'beauty of the beard' have a read through it.. it's by a university student!

Sorry for being harsh but i feel as a new muslim that muslims are representing there religion in the wrong way. My brothers and my father who are also new to this religion are keeping beards and we find it very hard to understand why a muslim would go against the teaching of the prophet and also my younger brother finds it paticularly hard as the vast majority of muslim boys at uni are walking around with a 'goatee'
You probably thinking that i need to chill out but honestly brother take it off dont make a mockry of the beard keep one according to the sunnah or like a said dont keep one at all.

i agree as an ex-goatee sue, i dint realise at the time but this is making fun our our face and its yahudi.
