Ok it might not be the cleverest thing to tell the whole world how much debt you have but I'm hoping it'll work out as a motivational factor. As everyone who's in debt will tell you "I don't know how it all happened!" except that I do know how it all happened (fat chance of me telling you on here though). The plan is to get rid of it all by next year and maybe even be in credit.
I'm not comfortable at the fact that at 20 and being a student I have 5k owing, damn ... apparently that is nothing because they say uni students leave with, on average, 13k of debt. Surely this can't be life?

Hun, I owe 25K just in student loans!
aww mann...thatz just f***ing depressin. i just cleared my overdraft 2 weeks ago nd that felt awsum..dont remind me abt the tuition fee loans..grr..
£5k isn't too bad. When I was 20, I owed more than double that (though I was working full-time).
Still, better than being an international student. A friend of mine spent over £100k on education (A-Levels, Bachelors, and Masters)!
Hi
i've started a spending diary
(i know i know -i'm a total geek!)
but it's quite good to motivate you to stop spending (for about a week or 2 at least)
good luck
No worries, at least blog-o-therapy works. You do know you have to work to solve things :)
13k?! PAH! try 25 k of a medical student...... and maybe even 35k if you take out a professional loan as well! not that i have that loan thankfully.....only about 4k of loan. lol.
ha! i will leave with 30 k debt...count yourself lucky
I know its been ages since you've posted this but hey; heres some free financial advice:
If its credit card debt; the interest is probably killing you; so do the whole balance transfer to a card that gives you 0% interest for x months; that way at least your debt isn't giving you more debt!
I'd give you more advice but you've either fallen asleep or thinking who the hell are you again!
This is such a Great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. It gives in depth information. Thanks for this valuable information.
