Usernames and Passwords

There are so many username's and password's I have to remember in-order for people to believe I am who I say I am. It's gotton to an extent where I have wrote some of the most important ones down. Anyway here's mine ...

Work

1. Initial computer log-on (ctrl+alt+del)
2. Screen 1 used to gain access to server
3. Screen 2 used to check a members account
4. Dialler system
5. Member overview (used to check what other things they have with us)
6. Incoming calls system
7. Total View - used for checking timetable and any shift adjustments

Uni

8. Computer log-on
9. "My account" logon used to check module updates
10. Storage drive access
11. Library password to borrow books (doesn't happen often)

Banking

12. Three cards with three different pin numbers
13. Internet banking with HSBC
14. and Barclays

Email

15. Gmail
16. Hotmail/Msn messenger
17. Yahoo email and messenger (hardly used)

Forums

18. Same username and passwords used

Elsewhere

19. Adsense
20. Adwords
21. Adcenter
22. Laptop log-on
23. Blogger
24. 5 different FTP logins

Hmmm, I am sure I have more. Probably don't remember 'em because I can't remember 'em. Can you beat 24?

Wed 17th Jan 07 03:39:20 PM 1 Mun: You should try using a password management application. One of the good simple ones is Password Corral, which doesn't doesn't even need to be installed.

There's *lots* of others, some are free and some aren't, so if this one doesn't meet your needs, you'll definitely be able to find one that works for you elsewhere, though it takes time and effort to install each one and try it out.

I give up there… I’ve got around 20+ personal domains too, some with Apps on the back of them and then the associated email accounts too and all the ones I run for my clients plus all the DB uns & pws… I reckon there’s a few hundred passwords in me repertoire, no wonder me brain’s fried…
