I've not updated the blog for over two weeks, sometimes I feel it doesn't reflect me anymore but oh well. Decided to call this entry "little episodes" because there's been a few things going on ...
My last entry was on Saturday 9th, that following Monday me and Abz flew off to our top-secret-location for a four day holiday (which is codenamed "France", well that is what we told our parents anyway). Man, did we chill or did we chill? Spent a bomb too, the good times make-up for it though ;)
Got back on the Friday and just when I arrived home, I received a call from my (now ex) "bum chum" Mr Rio telling me it's his nikah/wedding on Sunday and to be prepared cos I'm the best man. I told him to shut up, stop pratting about and to let me get some much needed sleep. Seven hours later I wake up, we meet up in the evening and he's saying the same thing. Telling me it's no joke.
Can you blame me for not taking him seriously? Apparently he had only decided on Wednesday that they should do a nikah, and didn't want to wait so they began telling everyone that their nikah was on the following Sunday. And me? I only got two days notice! This guy is unbelievable, he has only known his girl literally two months and claims "she's the one". On the other hand they say some people "know" on their first meet and that's what he says too.
The only thing I have learnt from this little episode is that when you love someone there's no thinking time involved on whether you should marry them not. Seems wild to me, Rio is the same age as me and I couldn't imagine me going ahead with it as this age. I'm happy for him, just a bit miffed he won't be spending as much time with meeeeee (that, and a girl takes precedence before me - how dare she).
Anyway the nikah was a nice quiet do, with only me as an "outsider" (i.e not family). I felt privileged. On Rio's request, I was wearing shalwar kameez because the nikah was taking place at a mosque. I hadn't worn any since ages, I guess all those pk aunties buying me clothes came in handy for once!

Yeh Naz, don't know bout her but Rio has always had a crazy side to him (maybe thats why we get along so well?) and Cherie, I think he was getting to a point where he wanted to settle down and get on with life. Why wait when you've found that special someone?
Cafe, I think I would take some goooood time off if I got to grips with a nice punjabi senorita ... I'd probably dissappear for god knows how long!
Ash, you can try shaking Naz and see if she squeals. I ain't saying yay or nay.
Kamilah, I guess she must be something special and I'm happy for the both of 'em. Yeah being bestman was cool tho a bit awkward too, as for the pics sorry I haven't any.
Brown Girl, except that the music didn't stop (the guy is only 21) so he could have waited but at the same time he probably wanted it over with. I do agree when you say guys go for those that are nearby.

Hey at least you got 2 days notice. A lot of the people that go to the masjid I do decide at fajr they want they nikkah at magrib. It's nuts!
